Recently during a Sunday afternoon jam session at the colorful Council Hill Station, I met up with a unique Jo Daviess County dude, social media sensation and aspiring TV host-producer named Bob Farster.

Farster is eccentric & affable in all the right ways. First, Bob is a retired highway builder. That career took him to countless country roads and small towns, where he discovered and developed an appreciation for America's lost highways and the bars he found in the middle of nowhere.

Farster is busy producing and hosting his online show, Back Roads Bars. He takes viewers down rural back roads and showcases the coolest, funkiest bars and taverns he can find. He's polishing his show concept and hosting skills with a professional production team that he hopes will help land him a TV deal.

Farster's show idea is Diners, Drive-ins, Dives, Anthony Bourdain, and American Pickers rolled into one.

Further, through his work and force of personality, Farster has also become well-connected to various country music stars, including the grandson of country music legend Waylon Jennings. So much so that Whey Jennings is making a memorable trip and appearance to perform at a party on Farster's Farm in Elizabeth, Illinois, tomorrow - Saturday, August 6.

The 4th annual party is limited to around 150 guests with a ticket price of $100. For the price of admission, Farster promises all the beer and wine you can drink, plus a hog roast with all the fixins. You may even conveniently camp on the property.

Most impressive is a lineup of musical talent with Misbehavin', The Resisters, and The Chitlins. They are traveling from the bayou of Mississippi to add blues and rock to the music mix. If that isn't enticing enough, Whey Jennings will be on-hand as the headline act.

Whey Jennings' career is only getting started as he has seemingly avoided the spotlight until recently. Grandson of legendary Waylon Jennings and grandmother Jessi Colter. Both had significant success as prominent musicians, with Waylon's legendary status as the founder of the Outlaw Country movement. Whey Jennings website describes him as a "rough around the edges, unpolished singer" with a voice as big as Texas. But give his vidoes a watch and listen reveals a talented and soulful voice that is sure to leave its mark on the country music world should Whey continue to follow in his grandad's legendary & giant footsteps. Visit wheyjennings.com to learn more.

A few weeks before meeting Bob Farster, I watched Whey's birthday tribute to his grandad Waylon and was quite impressed, thinking I should check his tour dates. Low and behold, I'll be seeing him perform this Saturday off some Jo Daviess County Backroad on Bob Farster's farm.
