JDIFF Brings The Halloween Parade Back To Dubuque
That's right my goblins and ghouls, and it's all thanks to the Julien Dubuque International Film Festival and Townsquare Media Dubuque!
Halloween is easily one of my favorite times of year and to go with it, the Dubuque Halloween Parade is back! In fact, registration is now open for floats, bands, organizations, and more to get involved in our local event.
Think about all the possibilities and fun your float could bring! This year plan to bring your best film-themed float, music, and more – any genre, any time period, it's all welcome! Maybe Freddy or Jason will make an appearance? How about the xenomorph from the Alien film franchise? Hocus-Pocus, anyone? Or hey, How about a Werewolf in... Dubuque? It doesn't have to be scary either; Wizard of Oz, Toy Story, whatever your flavor of Halloween fun, there will be first, second, and third place prizes given for Best Float and we'll also have a prize for Best Film-Themed Music for the bands (Halloween, Jaws, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park; there are loads of possibilities).
The parade will begin promptly at 7pm on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22 at Jackson Park and ends near Washington Park. Reminder, all materials, including candy will not be thrown from the street or floats; but, volunteers for their respective floats/organizations may hand-out materials/candy.
To register your float, organization, band, business, and more, fill out the registration paperwork which can be found here and send payment by October 10th. If you have any Questions about the weekend of events or the parade please feel free to email Executive Director Susan Gorrell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
