Inflation Killing Your Lunch? Save It With These Meal Deals
When's the last time you actually spent a dollar on a value menu item from any fast-food joint? Yeah, college for me too (Go Knights!)...
But this week, starting today, McDonald’s is running a week of deals with back-to-school deals. Today (8/15) begins with McChicken 101, a play on most of our class schedules of yester-year. Basically you can get a McChicken sandwich for $1.01 when you make a purchase through the McDonald’s mobile app. The deals for the week are as follows:
Monday, August 15: McChicken for $1.01
Tuesday, August 16: Chicken or Sausage McGriddle and a large Coffee for $2.01.
Wednesday, August 17: Ten McNuggets for $3.01.
Thursday, August 18: Big Mac and medium Fries for $4.01.
For those of you that hit up all four days, you will receive the "Perfect Attendance Bonus." This bonus allows you to double your MyMcDonald’s Rewards points on a single order anytime from August 22nd to the 31st, but these deals are only available through their app and require a purchase to receive them.
As we do get back in to the swing of things for school, the budget always tightens just a bit, so, here is a list of quick and cheap options when lunch time rolls around. Price point on this one is around 5 bucks ideally.
McDonalds is the old stand by as always; offering the $1, $2, $3 dollar menu. Some of these options can be combined to get you a decent meal for just $3.50.
Wendy's still offers, what I think is, the "biggest" bang for your buck with the 4 for $4 meal. You can get a sandwich, fries, chicken nuggets, and a drink for just $4. Don't believe me? See it here. You can even go just a bit bigger for a buck more on a "biggie" bag. Just $5 bucks and it feature s a bigger sandwich.
Taco Bell does quite well in this area as well. Their value menu features $1 and $2 items as well as 2 combos for just $5. And right now you can get the classic cheesy double beef burrito or the spicy cheesy double beef burrito for only 2 dollars. Check out the full cravings menu here.
KFC even gets in on the $5 action with their "5 Dollar Fill Ups." My go to would be the BBQ Tenders Burger Meal; one bun packed with 2 Hot and Crispy Tenders and drizzled with smoky chipotle BBQ sauce, together with a 4 piece Waffle Hash and a drink!
Burger King is getting in on the value game offering 2 for $4 and 2 for $5 breakfast deals, as well as, the 2 for $6 mix and match featuring the Big King, Single Quarter Pound, Fish Sandwich, Original Chicken Sandwich, and 9 piece Chicken Fries.
Each one of these local fast food spots has daily deals and app specials as well. Stretch your buck and fill up. Your wallet will thank me!
