‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5, ‘Veep’ and ‘Silicon Valley” Set April 2015 Premieres
HBO takes the stage at the ongoing TCA press tour in Pasadena, and the premiere announcements ride with it. Not only does ‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 have its official April premiere locked in, but so too does the fourth season of Emmy-winning comedy ‘Veep,’ and the second season of last year’s Mike Judge breakout ‘Silicon Valley!’
Per HBO’s official declaration only minutes ago, all three series will surprisingly premiere on Sunday, April 12. ‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 will open the night at 9:00 P.M. with its premiere, with ‘Silicon Valley’ and ‘Veep’ to follow thereafter. Additionally, the network announced that the third season of ‘Vice’ will debut on March 6, with new investigations into world affairs spanning Tennessee to Antarctica, and more.
On the side of ‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 (already renewed for 6, with the cast signed through 7), we know of multiple returning, confirmed absent, and new characters cast, including those that confirm we’ll be visiting the oft-mentioned kingdom of Dorne, for which Spain will double. As expected, the story will draw heavily from George R.R. Martin’s fourth and fifth novels, ‘A Feast for Crows’ and ‘A Dance with Dragons,’ while HBO has also provided a list of directors, as well as insight into which literary stories may not make the transition to film.
We’ll also have a the trailer debuting with IMAX presentations of season 4 later on this month and a preview featurette to follow in February, but what say you? Will you be parked in front of the TV April 12 for ‘Game of Thrones’ season 5, ‘Veep’ and ‘Silicon Valley?’ Or will ‘Daredevil’ still have your attention from the Friday before?
