Today at Applebee’s in Dubuque; select meals will help out a local organization as part of “Together WE Care Tuesday.” A purchase of select meals will see 50% of the sales go directly to the local Veteran’s Freedom Center when you mention you’re ordering for the VFC.
The Veterans Freedom Center in Dubuque serves the needs of all military; active duty, reserve, and Honorably Discharged veterans past and present and it’s all done by volunteers. That means the VFC is 100% non-profit and all staff members are unpaid volunteers; which makes these local donations so important when it comes to providing the different services they do.
In addition to the center itself, the Veterans Freedom Center is also involved in Give a Lift to a Vet, Operation We Care, and Cans for Condo. The “Give a Lift to a Vet” Program provides our local veteran population with a comfortable and convenient method of transportation to and from the V. A. Medical Center in Iowa City.
"Operation We Care" is designed to address the needs of military veterans and their families; including those that have special needs whereby all other means of assistance and support is no longer available. Examples of support given has been assisting homeless veterans and families, financial aid for rent and mortgage payments, transportation assistance, pharmaceutical products, providing wheelchairs and walkers to the veteran or veteran's family member in need.
The “Cans for Condo” program allows residence to donate their redeemable cans to the Center. 100% of these proceeds benefit the Veterans Freedom Center and in turn local military veterans and their families.
Stop by Applebee’s for lunch today, mention the VFC, and 50% of your bill goes to help your local veterans!
