Awesome eBay Collectibles from Dubuque
Shopping for collectibles on eBay is akin to scavenging at a flea market or yard sale. But is it a shopping stroll down memory lane or eBay's nostalgic rabbit hole?
But who doesn't enjoy a good old-fashioned trip down memory lane searching for a newly minted souvenir? I do, and the occasional online search for a trove of treasures is an innocent way to pass a few minutes or perhaps even hours.
So, I thought I'd share some recent discoveries from my sifting through tri-state eBay sellers. Each item is linked, so click & shop away if you see something you want or need.
Dubuque eBay Finds
The initial observation is a preponderance of vintage postcards on eBay.
There are also lots of trucker & tavern hats for sale. $7.99 for a vintage Paul's Tavern cap is an absolute bargain! You can have this one as I will continue the hunt for an authentic frontiersman coon skin cap like Julien Dubuque's.
As might be expected, there is an ample supply of Dubuque Packing Company memorabilia sporting a familiar fleur-de-lis like this slightly used golf ball.
This vintage concert poster flashes to the early 80s when you could regularly catch a legendary rock concert at Dubuque's Five Flags Center for just $10!
This sterling silver Dubuque Senior High 1940 class ring is a pretty neat piece of nostalgia.
Other fun finds from the tri-state eBay sellers
There are plenty of beer brewing memorabilia from Potosi, as you might imagine. But why did I sell that cherished beer can make collection from the 70s?
This Chicago Bears Training Camp sweatshirt supplies some 80s recollections. Those were some great memories of having Coach Ditka, Payton, McMahon, The Fridge, et al. doing the Super Bowl shuffle around Platteville, WI, during summer training.
From Dyersville, there's no shortage of fun but pricey collectible die-cast ERTL farm toys and Field of Dreams movie memorabilia.
This one especially hits close to home, seeing how I once owned this t-shirt. Had I only known, it would one day be worth $450 bucks!
Valuable Lesson: Wear that vintage concert and movie t-shirt only on special occasions.
