After nearly a year over seas, the Alpha Company 1-133 Infantry of the Iowa National Guard will be returning home today..  My son John is part of this unit.  And although he didn't deploy with his men due to family issues, he never waivered in his support while they were gone, keeping things running smooth on the home front.  He also kept in the touch with many of them during their time over seas.

Approximately 130 Soldiers from Company A, 1-133d Infantry BN are among those returning. Many tri-state residents have been displaying the red white and blue in anticipation of these soldiers returning home.  They arrived in the United States last week and are expected to arrive at the Dubuque Regional Airport today.

Please ensure that families are arriving with only 1 vehicle per Soldier due to Covid restrictions. Unfortunately the "welcome home" ceremony will not be open to the public due to COVID-19, however the event will be live streamed HERE. The Facebook live stream that will begin at 12:05. We encourage everyone to participate and help welcome home the troops virtually.

Thank you to these brave men and women for their service.  While we can't be there in person to welcome them home lets make sure they all have our continued support. Follow the live stream "welcome home" HERE starting at 12:05pm today.

Ken
