HOG stands for Harley Owners Group. This official riding club of Harley is over 500,000 members strong across America. HOG members are constantly looking for new areas to ride, and new friends to ride with. To be a part of this group though, you not only have to be a Harley-Davidson owner, but become a member of HOG as well. You can do so at this website, or by calling 1-800-CLUBHOG. Pay your dues for membership and you're in (the "Black Package" is still available and just $30). So far, there are 1,000 pre-registered attendees, from across 32 states and Canada, with room for more local members to get involved and even events that are open to the public.

So lets get to all the fun!!!! Wednesday(7/20) night is not officially the start of the event, but there will be some pre-events. The Hotel Julien Dubuque will be the host location for this years event, and will be holding a "How to Rally? Training Happy Hours Class For First Time Rally Attendees." That will take place from 6 to 9pm in the Riverboat Lounge. You can catch up with other HOG members, meet representatives of the group, and enjoy some specials on refreshments and snacks.

This is also where the opening ceremony will be held for the 2022 Mid America HOG Rally. After opening ceremonies, there will be a showing of the movie The Final 19, with Dan Hefel. That will take place at 7pm at the Hotel Julien Dubuque. A Film synopsis states, "The Final 19 tells the harrowing true story of Sgt. Dan Hefel, one of the final 19 prisoners of war to come home from Vietnam. Hefel’s riveting, sometimes raucous first-person account is by turns intense, horrific, and blackly humorous. His Vietnam experiences included both a delirious bout with malaria and a broken back from the helicopter crash that led to his capture. The severely wounded Hefel managed to survive being carried through the jungle on a difficult journey, but during his subsequent imprisonment, he faced torture and exploitation as a propaganda pawn by the North Vietnamese Army." The film was Directed by Timothy Breitbach.

Friday(7/22) there is loads to do for HOG members; additional screenings of The Final 19, guided and self-guided rides, a ladies Potosa Spa breakfast, and an evening at the Field of Dreams with the Ghost Players. At 9pm that night there will be a lighted bike contest across the street from the Hotel Julien open to the public. HOG attendees can then enjoy live music in the hotel from the Fishnet Stockings afterwards.

Saturday(7/23) wraps up the event in a big way! Rides all day long followed by closing ceremonies at Q Casino on the Back Waters Stage at 6pm. Enjoy great live music from the Foo Foo Dolls at 7:30pm, followed by party band favorites, The Pork Tornadoes at 9:30pm. This big musical event is free for all to attend and is an all ages show!
