Back in my day (shakes fist at clouds) there was only one live-action DC Comics TV series, and that was Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, starring Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher. The show lasted four years on ABC through the mid-’90s, and mostly stayed away from the comic book-y elements of the concept. Even the title tells you the series was more about Superman’s human alter ego and life than his superhero adventures.

These days, there are so many hardcore nerdy DC hero shows it’s hard to keep up with them all. The Arrowverse has Arrow (which is admittedly ending soon), The FlashSupergirlLegends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman. Plus there’s Black Lightning, and all the stuff on the DC Universe streaming service, like Titans and Swamp Thing. And now it looks like the Arrowverse is getting its own riff on Lois & Clark. Per The Hollywood Reporter, The CW is developing a Superman & Lois series, featuring the Arrowverse’s versions of those characters, played by Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch.

Here’s how they describe the series:

Produced by Greg Berlanti, former The Flash showrunner Todd Helbing will pen the script and exec produce the potential series. The drama is described as revolving around the world's most famous super hero and comics' most famous journalist deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today's society. (Helbing stepped down as showrunner on The Flash in March to focus on development.)

Superman & Lois would premiere in the 2020-21 season.
