Sundown Mountain Swapping Snow for Songs May 28th
Is the snow done!? That’s a serious question, but I guess it’s pretty typical for April in Iowa. Well with the end of snow (maybe) that sees the close of the skiing and snowboarding season for the patrons of Sundown Mountain Resort. Rest assured though, there is one more awesome reason coming from them to get out and enjoy spring on the mountain!
Music On The Mountain takes place Saturday May 28th from noon to 7:00 pm. This is a family-friendly outdoor event featuring live music. Bands featured that day will be Nate Jenkins from 1 to 3pm, Cody Earl from 3 to 5, and then Laura McDonald from 5 to 7.
You’ll also be able to grab your favorite drinks and try awesome eats from food trucks like; Bob & Lou’s, Birds. Fried Chicken, Howling BBQ, and Dinger’s D’Lite’s.
Take in the toons and shop the different area craft vendors and grab a chairlift ride. There will also be plenty of activities for the kids so bring the whole family and enjoy the petting zoo, inflatables, and much more!
While you’re there, guests are welcome to hike down the trails on the hillside and stop at Ben’s Den for s’more making and other great treats! Then just hop on the chairlift for a nice ride back up the hillside.
In the unfortunate event of bad weather, the rain date for this event will be the following day, May 29th. Tickets for Music on the Mountain will be available at the gate. $15 for Adults (ages 12 and up), Ages 6 to 11 for 8 dollars, with kids 5 and under free.
