People and Pets Urged to Stay Away

A clogged sanitary sewer line off Rising Avenue in Dubuque caused untreated wastewater to flow onto the street and into the surrounding ground.  The Dubuque Public Works Department was notified of the plugged line around 10:45 AM Thursday (July 8). Crews worked to remove the roots blocking the line and flow was directed back into the pipe by 1:30 p.m.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for forty-eight (48) hours.
