President Obama is now on Twitter -- again.

The leader of the free world got his own Twitter account on Monday:

It may seem somewhat redundant, since Obama is affiliated with two other accounts, @BarackObama, which is run by his campaign staff, and @WhiteHouse, which informs followers about news on official policy. This new account will be run by Obama himself and could be used after he says sayonara to the presidency.

His bio on the account reads, "Dad, husband, and 44th President of the United States."

A spokesman for the White House said, “President Obama is committed to making his Administration the most open and participatory in history, and @POTUS will give Americans a new venue to engage on the issues that matter most to them."

Even though he only created the account on Monday, he's already picked up nearly a million followers and even followed his beloved teams from Chicago -- the Bulls, White Sox and Bears. The Cubs were noticeably not followed, so they made sure to give him some grief:

He was also needled by his wife, Michelle, who teased him for taking so long to join the Twitter party:
