Party for the Planet Saturday at The National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium’s annual Party for the Planet will be held from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday,  April 24.  The museum will host several outdoor activities and booths showcasing the efforts of our conservation partners, as well as indoor engagement opportunities showcasing conservation work with wildlife and clean water initiatives.

Outdoor exhibitors will include groups like Good Neighbor Iowa, Green Dubuque/Green Iowa AmeriCorps, Sustainable Dubuque, the White Pine Sierra Club, NRCS (Natural Resource Conservation Service, and more.

Members of Scouts BSA will be on site with their camping and boating gear to showcase their travels to the boundary waters and to share more about their advocacy efforts in keeping those waters clean and healthy. Guests will have an opportunity to create seed paper, examine macro invertebrates found in the River Museum’s Wetland, help plant native plants on the River Museum’s campus, and take home their own saplings from Wagner Nursery.

Special animal presentations involving raptors, paddlefish, and others will complete the schedule of events.
