It's always exciting when a new business moves into the downtown area; and over the past couple of years Cascade has been spoiled by the addition of several new businesses. Places like Eloise Rae, Butch & Frankie Home GoodsCheryl's Flour Garden, Corner Taproom, and the return of Happy Joe's Pizza, to name a few.

And now you can add Moski's BBQ to that list.

Firstly, I say Moski's BBQ is "new" because I have had the pleasure of having them several times over the past years. Most recently, before their restaurant front opened, they catered my grandfather's funeral. Thanks again, Moski's; the food was delicious and was fitting for the celebration of the ornery old man's life (miss ya grandpa).

Yes, Moski's BBQ has been catering for several years, but now their amazing meat and side options are available each weeks-end for area residents. Moski's BBQ is open Thursdays 11 to 7, Fridays 11 to 9, and Saturdays from 11 to 9. Serving up pulled pork & chicken, chopped & sliced brisket, chicken hind quarters, ribs, and always delicious sides.

According to their website, owner Brice Morris has been the families cook for over 21 years and a pit master for the last 15. Moski's BBQ (brick and mortar) opened Friday, August 19th, but Brice and his wife Shawna were out and about well before that with the Moski's mobile food trailer. In fact, they were even on site at the Field of Dreams for the MLB game in Dyersville this year. They were also a winner at Cascade's Annual Wingfest this year.

The new restaurant is amazing! It has come a long way from originally being a Subway storefront. Wood trim on a black building, a large garage-door leading to a spacious outdoor patio, even gold rain gutters and shiny smoke-stacks; it's a beautiful addition to Cascade's main street.

Atmosphere. MEAT. And killer sides. The team at Moski's BBQ do the really important things right; and I LOVE the smell of smoked and bar-b-que meat lingering in the crisp cascade air during my evening walks.
