Illinois has its fair share of small towns, burbs, and hard-working cities, but you can bet some give off that "we're better than you" feel.

Why These Cities Made the Snobby List

Some may call it bougie, others call it fancy, but you can call it straight-up snobby. Whatever word you want to use, these 20 cities make the 20 most arrogant in the state.

Bougie Coffee Shops and Big Houses

Now, before you start getting all angry at me, remember, I didn't make the list. I'm just the messenger, but looking at it now, you can see why some of these towns were totally made the cut. You know why, too. The big houses, the overpriced coffee shops where nobody even thinks it's totally insane to throw down eight bucks for a lukewarm latte, and the boutique that charges more for a sweater than most of us would consider spending a week on groceries.

What It Feels Like to Visit

If you want to be a baller on a budget, you can't do it in any of these towns, I mean, even the mall makes you feel like you should've dressed nicer before attending. One of the other cities on this list makes me feel even the cars are judging me for rolling up in my less-than-premium vehicle.

Snobby Doesn’t Always Mean Bad

The truth is, though, snobby isn't always the worst thing. It simply means that some people like nice things and can afford them. The good news is that if your city made the list, you should be almost proud, like, wear it as a badge of honor, or you could just laugh it up while you warm up your overly expensive coffee in the microwave.
