Water parks didn't come around until I was a little bit older of a kid. In the beginning, there were a couple of slides, a kids area, and maybe a wave pool. Then, they started to expand with more and more attractions. They started popping up in the northern states and regular towns. Nowadays, you can find them all over the country. Many of them are the size of amusement parks. You could actually spend multiple days there.

Illinois summers can get intense, and sometimes the best part of a water park day is the ride that lets you do absolutely nothing. That is the magic of this winding lazy river in Yorkville.

My favorite ride at a water park is the lazy river. I don't think I even saw one until I was an adult. My first experience on a lazy river was at the MGM Grand in Vegas. We spent the day floating with tasty frozen drinks in our laps. Ever since, I've been a big fan. It's so relaxing and peaceful. Plus, a great way to cool off on a warm summer day. Recently, I've been on the quest to find the best lazy river in Illinois and I've got a winner.

Raging Waves in Yorkville is the largest water park in Illinois. So, it's not surprising that they have the best lazy river in the state. It's called Kookaburra Kreek, and flows through the entire park. There are three different entrances, and it's a quarter mile long. I can see myself floating all day long.
