Dubuque Rapper Red Washington is Taking Over with His Talents

Faithful readers and listeners of the Y105 Morning Show know that I love profiling people in the community doing big and/or unique things. I love having local artists on the air as well. With that in mind, Red Washington encompasses all of those traits and still seems like he's just getting started.

Red Washington is a rapper and entrepreneur in Dubuque. A Galesburg, IL native, he has refined his craft musically and hustles like few I've ever met. In studio this week with his wonderful family by his side, including his charismatic brother, Marley, and their lovely mother, Linda, Red's fuel is his support system and he's powered into overdrive by his unquenchable thirst for success, all while remaining grateful.

The Aquarius Bash in Dubuque:

Chief among things Red Washington wanted to talk about on the morning show this week was the Aquarius Bash, an upcoming concert at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds on Friday, February 13th. The show is headlined by YK Niece, whose ubiquity on several songs the last couple years have made her one of Billboard's fastest-rising female rappers in 2025. She's worked with the likes of Kevin Gates and Pluto, with their song "Whim Whammie" racking up over 38 million views on YouTube.

Red Washington is a Full-Blown Entrepreneur:

Beyond making music of his own, under the name "FMG Red," Red and his brother, Marley, started with their own clothing company in the 2010s. That propelled them into a new stratosphere, which led them to be able to sell jewelry, and manage their own photography/videography business.

And through it all, Red remains committed to the music, with an arsenal of bangers available on his YouTube channel.
