Father-Daughter Wedding Dance Turns Into Sweet Game of Catch
The bouquet wasn't the only thing this bride threw.
A bride and her dad ditched the traditional father-daughter wedding dance and played catch with a baseball, instead. The duo really got into the spirit of things, too, putting on mitts and tossing the ball around on the dance floor to John Fogerty's "Centerfield," while guests looked on.
We wonder if instead of hors d'oevres and wine, waiters started tossing peanuts and Cracker Jack to guests.
The dad explained why they bucked tradition in favor of an activity more suited for the backyard:
My daughter has always found her own path. She played Flag football at 6. She hated wearing dresses. She wore a tuxedo to her first communion. She lettered in Soccer and Track. She then became an Engineer for the largest automaker in the world when she was 22. I could not imagine having a traditional father daughter dance with her. That is not what we were or are...So I came up with this. - She had no idea!
Dad then hands off his glove to someone else (we presume the groom) and his little girl fires in a few pitches and takes some grounders and pop flies.
Let's hope the cake was not in the area -- one bad throw and it could've been toppled!
