Dubuque Woman Dies after Crash on Central Avenue

A fatal car crash is being investigated by the Dubuque Police Department.  According to police at approximately 12:37 P.M. on Sunday, December 5th, officers responded to the intersection of 5th Street and Central Avenue for a motor vehicle collision.

Police determined Branden Authement, 32, of Dubuque, was driving  south on Central Ave. and ran a red light at 5th Street.  Authement struck a vehicle driven by Anthony Livens, 62, of Dubuque.

Authement sustained serious injuries and was transported to Unity Point - Finley Hospital.  Authement was later transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Livens also sustained serious injuries and was transported to MercyOne Hospital.  Nancy Meisenburg, 54, of Dubuque, was a passenger in Livens’s vehicle and sustained serious injuries.  Meisenburg was transported to MercyOne Hospital and later died from her injuries.  The collision remains under investigation.
