Mouths have been watering in anticipation for the opening of Dubuque's newest pizzeria, which looks to bring New York and Detroit-style pies to the Tri-States. Fulfilling their promise of opening in late spring, the owners have announced via Facebook details on their soft opening.

Driftless Pizza Co. is set to be the latest addition to Dubuque's bustling Millwork District. Located in the same building as Backpocket Pin & Pixel and Dolph's Iron Bar, at 333 East 10th Street, Driftless is set to be a delightful complement to existing businesses and the larger community in general.

Driftless Pizza Co. announced via their Facebook page that they are planning a series of soft openings beginning Monday, June 24th through June 28th. For the first round of those openings, hours will be as follows:

  • June 24th - June 26th: 5-8pm
  • June 27th - 28th: 11am-9pm
  • July 5th - July 7th: 11am-9pm

This weekday trial period will likely assure that the owners and staff can operate and handle volume accordingly. Be aware, however, there is only one way that you'll be able to get a pizza and a table at Driftless Pizza for the time being...

If you're hankering to try Dubuque's newest pizza place, you will need to make reservations via their ToastTable page. Any other way will not be accepted. The reservation portal opens Tuesday, June 18th at 11am. As an added bonus and a thank you for being among the first to try their pies, Driftless Pizza Co. is offering 20% off for all reservations!

Founders Jake and Kayti have a clear passion for pizza that they want to bring to the area, per their origins story on their website:

At Driftless Pizza Co, we believe in creating an culinary experience that elevates the art of pizza-making. The great traditions of New York and Detroit serve as the inspiration, from which we add our own innovative combinations and unique flavors. Our dough is slowly fermented to maximize the flavor and texture. The toppings are fresh and creative, and the cheese is the finest Wisconsin has to offer. We look forward to serving you. - per Driftless Pizza Co's website

Those who want to float between Driftless Pizza Co. and Backpocket will find they'll be able to do such with ease. Patrons will be able to carry over any tab between the two businesses, bolstering both for customers who want to enjoy pizza, have a few cocktails, and play some arcade games too.

Stay posted on Driftless Pizza Co's series of soft openings and other developments on their Facebook page as well as their website.
