Spooky season is upon us! That means it's time to bust out the cozy sweaters, sip on some apple cider and binge thriller flicks. And if you're going to binge thriller movies this season, there's definitely got to be an Alfred Hitchcock flick on the list!

Alfred Hitchcock is known as one of the most influential filmmakers of all time. It seems unlikely The Master Of Suspense himself would have had any fears, but it turns out he actually had a very interesting and unexpected phobia.

He had a fear of eggs – and chicken eggs especially terrified him! This fear is known as ovophobia. Doctors aren't exactly sure of the exact cause of this phobia, and most people with it have no recollection of when, how, or why they developed the fear.

“I'm frightened of eggs, worse than frightened, they revolt me. That white round thing without any holes … have you ever seen anything more revolting than an egg yolk breaking and spilling its yellow liquid? ... But egg yolk is yellow, revolting. I've never tasted it.” Hitchcock said in a 1963 interview.
