Cuba City, Wisconsin, The City of Presidents adds another Presidential Shield to Main Street
Continuing a tradition that dates back to the Bi-Centennial Celebration of 1976, Cuba City, Wisconsin the “City of Presidents” has added a forty-fifth Presidential Shield in recognition of the election of Donald J. Trump. Each colorful red, white and blue shield includes the U.S. President’s name, silhouette, his term in office and home state. Each shield is accented by U.S. flags from Memorial Day though Veteran’s Day.
The tradition is one of the oldest remaining Bi-Centennial celebrations and is recorded as such in Washington, D.C. On October 17th, 1993 a proclamation was read by then Mayor Richard E. Davis officially proclaiming Cuba City’s new motto as “The City of Presidents.”
