What's that? Your favorite social media website crashed?! Oh my gosh! What are you going to do now? Here's a list of things you might want to try to pass the time!

#1.) Read a book!

You saw the movies "The Hunger Games" and "Fifty Shades of Grey"? Did you know they are both based on popular books?

If you didn't know, a book is a written or printed work consisting of pages glued or sewn together along one side and bound in covers. These were popular for quite a few years before cell phones and tablets decreased their use by many.

Think of it as a really long 'old-fashioned' article you found on Reddit.

#2.) Catch up on dishes!

Yeah, they needed "a little time to soak" while you were updating your Instagram with a picture of dinner, but since you can't connect anyway, now might be a good time to give them a little elbow grease and get them done.

#3.) Take a walk.

This might also be something you've gotten out of the habit of doing. Putting down electronics and going outside is something our mothers have been begging us to do for years. While your parents might be sympathetic to your plight of not being able to hit your pals on Messenger, they are secretly ecstatic at the thought you might look away from your cell phone for 30 seconds.

#4.) Spend time with your kids.

When did they get so big? Kids love to be the center of our world! Give them a little bit of your time and make a memory together. (You could do something simple and fun - see numbers two and three.)

#5.) Call your mom and dad.

They love you and miss you. Even if you spoke to them yesterday, it means a lot to them when you pick up the phone and call for no reason. You don't even have to tell them the reason you're calling is that you and almost 3 billion other people can't access their Facebook pages.

So there you go. Next time you find yourself staring idly at your mobile device, try using one of these classic activities to pass the time.
