Know what's awesome about being in the same building as the two big top 40 stations of the '70s, '80s and more?  You happen upon some pretty cool stuff...and recently, we stumbled across a huge collection of WDBQ and K-Live 105 music surveys that counted down the biggest hits in the area every week.  Instead of just geeking out on them ourselves, we thought we'd share them with you!  So here's the top 5 songs from May 5, 1977:

5. Boz Scaggs/"Lido Shuffle"
Fun fact: Boz went to UW/Madison with his best friend from boarding school, who went on to an okay career. You've heard of Steve Miller, haven't you?

4. Stevie Wonder/"Sir Duke"
If you don't crank this up and dance, you're gonna wanna consult a physician -- there's definitely something wrong with you.

3. Leo Sayer/"When I Need You"
Dude is now 71 and he STILL has that rockin' perm.  You gotta admire that kind of commitment to a haircut.

2. Climax Blues Band/"Couldn't Get It Right"
They've had a TON of lineup changes and lost a few members, including their lead singer on this jam, but they're still out there touring...after 52 years!

1. KC & The Sunshine Band/"I'm Your Boogie Man"
It's my favorite Halloween song!  (I know.  Let me have it, will ya?)

Hope you dug today's Tri-State Throwbacks.  Make sure you check back Monday through Friday for a new countdown!
