Illinois Deli Called the ‘Most Famous Restaurant’ in the State
Bring your appetite when you go to this place. You might want to bring your patience too because this is the most famous restaurant in Illinois.
With fame at restaurants usually comes long wait times and with Business Insider giving this Illinois deli the nod as "most famous restaurant" in the state, I'm sure things are bound to get even busier.
Named by Time Out as "the most prominent Jewish deli in Chicago," Manny's Cafeteria and Delicatessen has been owned by four generations of the same family for 80 years, according to the restaurant's website.
In addition to classic deli fare like Reuben sandwiches and corned beef hash, the restaurant also serves unique dishes like tongue and mushrooms.
Most days, Manny's Cafeteria & Delicatessen is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Whether it be the Corned Beef, Hash, and Eggs for breakfast, Meatloaf, Pepper Steak, or Chop Suey for lunch or dinner, or something in between straight from their legendary deli, Manny's has a bunch of different dining options.
Fans are enamoured with Manny's too giving the restaurant a score of 4.0 out of 5 on Yelp.
Most of the complaints regarding Manny's came from food temperature, and the overall cost with Renderking M. mentioning "Prices are out of touch with the quality received."
On the other hand, the positives are through the roof for Manny's with people calling the chopped liver "amazing." Chopped liver? I've never wanted chopped liver before but I might have to try this stuff.
Mike M. said the portion sizes are "huge" and said, "They got their money's worth."
