2024 Dates Revealed For This Major Golf Tournament In Illinois
The 2023 John Deere Classic was an exciting tournament for many reasons. Many people who have never been to TPC Deere Run came to watch concerts, not the golf. Either way, it was a great turnout for this year's tournament, and hope some of the new things this year get carried over to next year.
With this year's John Deere Classic tournament being over and the TOUR Championship taking place this month, the PGA Tour has released its 2024 regular season and playoff schedules. This includes when the 2024 John Deere Classic will take place.
Straka Wins The 2023 John Deere Classic
For the second time since turning pro in 2016, the Austrian Sepp Straka, 30, has a PGA Tour win under his belt. His first win came last year during The Honda Classic.
Straka captured his second PGA win at the 2023 John Deere Classic in Silvis, IL. He finished at -21, beating Americans Brendon Todd and Alex Smalley by two strokes.
With his first John Deere Classic win, Straka took home $1,332,000. Not too bad for a weekend of golf.
Concerts On the Course Should Continue
New this year at The John Deere Classic were Concerts on the Course. After the third and fourth rounds of the tournament, concerts were held on the 18th green. Hopefully, officials saw an uptick in attendance to keep this idea going.
It doesn't hurt that two major country artists were there to perform. Saturday featured Darius Rucker and Sunday featured Blake Shelton.
