Hy-Vee announced on Monday details about its annual partnership with Hormel Foods, food pantries, and local first responders to give away 5,000 Hormel® Cure 81® Hams.

This initiative is part of Hy-Vee's Hams for the Holidays program and will provide 25,000 meals to those in need. Ten Feeding America member food banks have been selected to bring this initiative to families in need across Iowa, Illinois, and the Midwest.

Hams To Be Given To Families In The Quad Cities For Free

Hy-Vee's Hams for the Holidays program stops in the Quad Cities this month. During the scheduled event, hams will be distributed to families by Hy-Vee employees, local first responders, and food pantry volunteers.

When Can You Get A Free Ham In The Quad Cities

Ten giveaway events are scheduled this month where hams will be available via drive-thru or walk-up, depending on location. Over the last six years, Hy-Vee and Hormel have partnered to provide more than 26,000 Hormel Cure 81 ® hams to those in need.

The Hy-Vee Ham for the Holidays event in the Quad Cities will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 12th from 4-6 p.m. at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds (2815 W. Locust St. Davenport, Iowa).

Hy-Vee’s Hams for the Holidays donations come from the Hormel® Cure 81® Hams for Hunger™ program that was founded in 1989. The program involves a partnership between Hormel Foods and grocery retailers across the country. Throughout the years, more than $16 million in hams have been donated, feeding tens of thousands of families across the country.

Following is the list of locations and event start times. Each event will last for the timeframe listed below or until all hams are distributed, whichever occurs first.
