I'm no stranger to the world of teaching young kids. Whether it's my wife working as a paraprofessional or me coaching youth sports, kids need guidance and a place where they can feel secure while learning. In the bustling landscape of today's world, where stress and anxiety seem to have become all too common, fostering mindfulness and emotional well-being among our youth has never been more crucial. Recognizing this need, Mindful Minutes for Schools, a nonprofit organization based in the greater Dubuque area, has been tirelessly working to equip students and educators with lifelong wellness skills.

Through initiatives like yoga, mindfulness, and reflection, Mindful Minutes for Schools is not just offering education; they're sowing the seeds for a healthier, more resilient future generation. With extensive research backing the benefits of these practices, the organization ensures that children from all walks of life have access to tools that aren't typically taught in traditional classrooms.

One of the flagship events of Mindful Minutes for Schools is the annual YoGala, a celebration that embodies the spirit of mindfulness and community support. Scheduled for Thursday, April 4th, at the prestigious Hotel Julien in Dubuque from 6 to 9pm, this year's YoGala promises to be an evening of connection, entertainment, and giving back.

Attendees can look forward to an array of activities, including live music to soothe the soul, a cash bar to keep spirits high, and complimentary hors d'oeuvres to tantalize the taste buds. But beyond the delightful offerings, YoGala provides a platform for individuals to contribute to a cause that's close to their hearts.

Under the theme of 'gratitude,' this year's YoGala aims to instill a sense of appreciation and thankfulness within the community. Led by Mindful Minutes for Schools Founder, Molly Schreiber, interactive activities will further deepen the connection to the essence of mindfulness.

What's more, attending YoGala isn't just about having a good time—it's about making a tangible difference. Through tax-deductible donations made during the event, participants will directly support the social-emotional well-being of children, educators, and schools in the community.
