A brief little video Dubuque's National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium posted on TikTok has been going viral over the last several days. The video highlights the adorable nature of some of their newest arrivals: Wyoming Toads!

The 10-second clip features an unseen worker making the tiny little toads kiss in what serves as a perfect little video for the spirit of Valentine's Day. As of this writing, the video has amassed over 183,000 likes and over 800 comments.

The Wyoming Toads are part of the River Museum's initiative to save the dwindling Wyoming Toad population. Museum guests have the opportunity to symbolically adopt/name a toad or tadpole. Those that participate receive a digital certificate with their chosen name that will be sent via email.

As Tom Drake wrote earlier this month on the subject:

Here's the deal, the population of Wyoming Toads declined dramatically in the 1970s, and by January of 1984, it was listed on the Endangered Species Act. Since joining the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and Association of Zoos & Aquarium Species Survival Plan Program in 2008, the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium's conservation team has helped release more than 52,000 toads back to the wild. - per Tom Drake's article on Wyoming Toads

River Museum guests can make a donation to "Toad-ally in Love" to receive their aforementioned digital certificate in time for Valentine's Day. Think of it as a unique gift during the season of love this year. You can also write a "Toad Note" that the River Museum will display at their box offices through February 14th!
