These Just Might Be The Best Donut Spots In Eastern Iowa
There are three things that are certain in this life: death, taxes, and donuts always being delicious. Iowa has no shortage of spots to pick up the delicious treat!
In honor of National Donut Day in early June, we had to do some digging and find out what some of the best donut spots in Eastern Iowa are. We asked you to give your completely unbiased opinion, and you delivered!
ICON Donuts & Sweetery
ICON is a locally run and locally owned donut delicacy. After the immense success that this bakery had in Waterloo, the team decided to expand to Cedar Falls in 2021.
According to their website, the name ICON, "stands for “iconic” people, places, and moments in history that we have brought to life in the form of delicious donuts and artistic designs."

Hurts Donut Company
This is a national company with a small-town feel. I discovered this spot at its popular location in Downtown Cedar Falls. Each store that falls under the Hurts Donut umbrella is independently owned and operated.
Also, Hurts is one of the few sweet spots that is open 24/7... or as they like to call it...25/8. There are currently four Iowa locations.

Donutland
Donutland used to be a HUGE franchise, but now Eastern Iowa is home to one of the last original shops. This shop opened for business in Cedar Rapids in 1971 and has become a delicious bit of nostalgia.
Now, it's a family run business.
Currently, there are three locations in the Corridor with two of those being in Cedar Rapids.

Rockets Bakery
This bakery was previously located in La Porte City. Now, it sits right in the heart of Downtown Waterloo at 331 East 4th Street.
There hours are: Tuesday-Friday 7am - 1pm and Saturday 7am-1pm.
Donuts aren't the only sweet things Rockets is baking. This eatery is also known for its breads, cupcakes, cookies, and cakes.
Pedrettis Bakery
A small-town bakery located on 101 North Main Street in Elkader. Not only do they have donuts, but they also have some delicious looking classic desserts. From jelly rolls to even some freshly made bread and buns, they've got almost anything that you might need in a sweet-tooth emergency.
