Iowa Olympian Gives Update On Dating Apps In The Olympic Village
The most entertaining part of Paris 2024 is definitely what the Olympians are posting from the Olympic Village.
My whole FYP this week has been Olympic Village content from the athletes and media personnel in Paris this week and I'm here for it. The social scene, the cardboard beds, and the overall prep process of the world's best athletes to compete on the international stage.
You would think the dating apps like Tinder would be a gold mine in the Olympic Village. World-class athletes? Single? Yes please.
Emily Delleman, who is competing in Rowing for Team USA, is from Davenport. She did a viral TikTok explaining what Tinder is looking like in the Olympic Village these days and it's definitely not what I would've thought.

Literally how can there be less than 10 Olympians on an app like Tinder in the Olympic Village?? There are almost 600 athletes from Team USA in our tower of the Village alone.
So far, Emily's TikTok on the situation has about 90,000 likes and over 1 million views. Also, love her callback to Yik Yak. That was such a delightfully messy app to have, especially in college.
I've seen other Olympians just kind of sit around common areas in the Village to try to find folks to flirt with that way, maybe that works? If these attractive, talented Olympians can't find love, the rest of us might be screwed.
The Paris 2024 Opening Ceremonies are tonight on NBC and the Games will continue through August 11th.
