Eastern Iowa Art Museum Offering Free Admission In July
You don't have to spend a lot of money to see some beautiful art.
We always like to do free stuff and it's a bonus when it's inside with air conditioning. And some art and culture is never a bad idea.
The Figge Art Museum in downtown Davenport will be offering free admission for the entire month of July. The museum has some beautiful exhibitions they are home to this summer. Besides their permanent collection of art, they also have:
- Walter Wick: Hidden Wonders!
- Illuminated Manuscripts from the Figge Collection
- Reckonings and Reconstructions: Southern Photography from the Do Good Fund
Plenty of events are scheduled at the Figge in July. The Figge will also have "Big Picture In The House" in July, which is a one-hour session open to all ages of "learning, exploring, and creating" in the Figge's Grand Lobby. They will be held every Wednesday in July from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. You can register at Figge Art Museum's website.
Also in July, keep an eye out in select galleries at the Figge on Tuesdays and Fridays, you will be able to find the free art cart, which will include gallery games, art, and books. Artist Walter Wick will host a free artist talk on July 18th.
