Names Released in Fatal Dubuque Traffic Accident

A three-vehicle accident on Highway 52 South near Kemp Road on Tuesday January 7th, 2025, resulted in one fatality and one injury. Emergency services, including the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, and Key West Fire & EMS, responded to the scene at approximately 4:26 in the afternoon.

Upon arrival, two of the drivers were found injured and trapped in their vehicles. Both were extricated and transported to local hospitals in Dubuque. Tragically, one driver was pronounced dead, while the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Today, Wednesday January 8th, authorities identified the deceased as Tyler Thompson, 36, of Dubuque. The injured driver was identified as Kristin Lynch, 52, also of Dubuque. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
