In an exciting development for Iowa Hawkeye football broadcasts, former University of Iowa All-America linebacker Pat Angerer has been announced as the new color analyst for the program. Angerer will partner with the Voice of the Hawkeyes, Gary Dolphin, starting on August 31st for the season opener against Illinois State at Kinnick Stadium. This transition follows Ed Podolak's retirement after an impressive 42-year career in the booth.

Angerer, a Bettendorf, Iowa native, brings a deep connection to the Hawkeye football program. His college career from 2005 to 2009 was marked by outstanding performances, including 258 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and six interceptions.

In his senior year, he earned first-team All-America honors and was a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Award. He led the Big Ten in tackles, played a pivotal role in Iowa's 11-2 season, and contributed significantly to their Orange Bowl victory over Georgia Tech.
