Beer Me! America’s Oldest Brewery Expanding to Illinois
I actually quite like the Pennsylvania brewed Yuengling Traditional Lager. I was actually introduced to it by my buddy Mike who had a friend that made trips to pick up 6-packs of the brew, particularly the black and tan variety. Now, those trips will be even shorter as Yuengling has announced its expansion into the Tri-State area.
Yes, beer lovers in Illinois have something to toast about: Yuengling, the oldest brewery in America, is officially expanding into the state in early 2024. Starting in late January, fans will be able to enjoy Yuengling on draft at their favorite bars and restaurants. Shortly after, their popular brews will hit store shelves, making it easier than ever for Illinois (and Tri-State) residents to get a taste of this iconic brand. And I must say, it's quite good.
This expansion marks another major step for Yuengling as it grows beyond its traditional East Coast roots. Known for its 194-year legacy, the brewery has gradually been making its way westward, with recent launches in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma in 2023. Illinois is now the next stop, reflecting the company’s commitment to delivering quality beer experiences to new markets.
Fans in Illinois can look forward to enjoying Yuengling’s flagship offerings, including the Traditional Lager, Black & Tan, and seasonal favorites. With the brewery’s reputation for producing flavorful, high-quality beers, Illinois is expected to be a strong fit for Yuengling’s continued growth.
Founded in 1829 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Yuengling remains family-owned and operated. The brewery also has production facilities in Tampa, Florida, and works in partnership with Molson Coors to expand distribution further west. With its arrival in Illinois, Yuengling’s footprint will grow to 27 states.
Fans can expect classic favorites like Yuengling Traditional Lager and Black & Tan, as well as seasonal selections. Follow Yuengling on social media for launch updates and events. Cheers to Illinois joining the Yuengling family!
