Video Shows Semi-Trailer Truck that Slammed into Illinois Home

This could have been so much more tragic. A new video shows a semi-trailer truck that slammed into a home in Illinois late Wednesday night.

I saw this shared by CBS Chicago. It's video showing rescuers trying to free a truck driver from his cab after it slammed into a home in Harvey, Illinois.

The good news is the home the driver impacted is abandoned. They report that they do not know what caused the driver to slam into the home. There's no word if a medical emergency was responsible or if some other factors played a role in this accident.

It's miraculous that the driver hit a home with no one in it as the report says it's the only abandoned building on this block in Harvey, Illinois.

Reports indicate that the driver was extricated from the truck cab after 3 hours by rescuers as they were also trying to stabilize the home he hit. There's also no report at this time about the driver's condition.
