Dubuque Area Radio Road Report May 19, 2021

On US 20 Near North Cascade Road expect intermittent lane closures and travel restrictions through the end of September.

Wisconsin Highway 81 is closed between US 61 and Ridge Avenue near Platteville. Platteville. Work is expected to be completed in November.

Wisconsin Highway 133 is detoured between Cassville and Bloomington for construction through September 15th.

City Street and Lane Closures include:

  • Due to Bee Branch Project-related construction, W. 17th Street in Dubuque between Central Ave. and Iowa St. will be closed. The project includes underground utilities and the installation of stormwater trench drains across W. 17th St. near Heeb St. The estimated completion date is July 12. Motorists are asked to follow the posted detour.
  • As part of the US Highway 20 / Swiss Valley Interchange project currently under construction, the Iowa Department of Transportation has closed a segment of North Cascade Road between Royal Wood Drive and Swiss Valley Road.  There will be no posted detour.  Local access to properties along the road closure segment will be maintained. The segment of North Cascade Road between Royal Wood Drive and Swiss Valley Road will remain closed until the new relocated North Cascade Road construction and the new intersection with Swiss Valley Road is completed.
  •  The US 20 Frontage Road east of Devon Drive is scheduled to remain closed through May 28.
  • EXTENDED: Clarke Drive will be closed between Harold St. and Foye St. for private pavement repairs until 5 PM Friday, May 21. Motorists are asked to follow the posted detour. Motorists are asked to follow the posted detour.
  • An eastbound lane of E. 16th Street will be closed between Kerper Blvd. and Greyhound Park Rd. for fiber optic utility work from 7 AM Monday, May 10th to 5 PM Friday, May 21st. Two way traffic will be maintained and motorists should use caution in the area.
  • Fifth Street in Dubuque will be closed between Main Street and Locust Street on Wednesday, May 19 beginning at 7 p.m. and will remain closed until 3 a.m. on Sunday, May 23 due to a City-permitted special event at the Five Flags Center.

Dubuque County Roads: 

Travel will be restricted on Cedar Ridge Road from Budd Road to Hales Mill Road to one lane traffic and full road closure at times during daylight hours for approximately 2-3 weeks - depending on weather - as the contractor starts working on old pipe culverts that will be removed and replaced. Paving operations to follow.  Work is expected to conclude around the end of May.

On Sundown Road, South of Peosta, travel will be restricted to one lane with a pilot car during daylight hours for for shoulder work, expected to be complete before May 24.

Gun Club Road North of Epworth between the city limits and Millville Road remains completely closed for bridge replacement. The project is expected to be completed this month (May).

There will be a shoulder closure on US 151 Between County Road D53 and County Road D52 (near Bernard) starting May 10, 2021 at 8:00AM  until May 28, 2021.
