Prior to the release of Santana IV, the album reuniting most of the classic-era Santana lineup, the band will perform at the House of Blues in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The performance will be filmed for television and DVD release.

The band has also created a video documenting the making of the album, which can be viewed above. Carlos Santana, Neal Schon, Gregg Rolie, Michael Carabello and Michael Shrieve talk about the forces that brought them all back for the first time since 1971. Schon had originally approached Carlos about making an album packed with guitar legends and an all-star band, but instead Carlos suggested bringing the band back together. "It just felt like it was the right time for us to partake in this chemistry that Santana has," Carlos revealed.

Featured in the clip are bits of some of the songs, including the first single "Anywhere You Want to Go" and "Love Makes the World the Go Round," which has lead vocals from Ronald Isley of the Isley Brothers.

"This song is gonna be a smash record," Isley said. "And I was thinking if I can add something to the song that would really bring this lyric out, how important it would be, especially in this time right now. I feel it's going to be one of those songs that has the vibe to last forever."

"Get ready to partake in something that is supremely delicious," Carlos said.

Tickets for the special show in Vegas can be purchased at Live Nation beginning at 10AM Pacific today (March 5). The week Santana IV hits shelves, Santana and the band Schon and Rolie left Santana to form, Journey, will perform three concerts together. They will begin at Madison Square Garden on April 13, then move on to Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Ct., on April 15 and the PPL Center in Allentown, Pa., on April 16.
