Did you know there's a new Marvel movie coming out in a few months? You did? You must have your finger on the pulse. You probably also knew that Diamond Select had a set of new figures coming to the Marvel Select line based on Captain America: Civil War, including a new Winter Soldier, Captain America and Iron Man. Those three won't be the only Civil War stars getting new Marvel Select figures though.

This week, new Black Panther and Captain America Marvel Select figures were revealed. Though they won't be based on the incarnations from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, any time we can get a new Black Panther figure is a good one. Even though it's not a direct tie-in to another movie, this Captain America figure will bring Steve Rogers one closer to Spider-Man for the record of most Marvel Select figures. Bucky and Black Widow (both comic versions) will see re-releases of previous Marvel Select figures, too, but it's really all about the all-new Cap and T'Challa.

The Black Panther figure is a little plain, but there's only so much you can do with his comic costume since it's so basic. The sculpt looks good though, and there looks to be enough articulation to get Panther in some really acrobatic poses to show off his combat skills. The diorama base does look a bit jungle-like, but doesn't really scream Wakanda to me. Cap and Bucky get fairly detailed backgrounds that really place them in a particular moment in time. Panther looks like he's out in the backyard waiting for a family photo.

Captain America's latest figure takes a bit of liberty with the traditional design, and appears to be from World War II. The actual Army gear accessories give him a little bit of depth and variety compared to other similar figures. The Hydra diorama is what really sells the moment though. It would have been cool if the Bucky and Cap backgrounds formed one complete diorama, but it's understandable why they don't. I only wish Cap's face had a bit more going on. It's a little flat, and he looks bored being a super soldier.

Both Black Panther and Captain America are currently available for pre-order through the Marvel Shop for $24.99 each, and are expected to release on Feb. 29. You can also take your chances on finding either at Disney Stores later this month.
